I grew up in Western Massachusetts in the beautiful Berkshires. At the age of 21 I hopped the big jet for Los Angeles, four years later moved to Sunnyvale, CA where I started working for Hewlett-Packard. In 1978, I transferred to the Printer Division in Boise, Idaho. I love nature and the outdoors so Boise was a good fit for me. For many years I taught yoga - over 35 years. In 2000 photography became my passion. In the summers you can find me hiking and photographing wildflowers and scenery in the Sun Valley and Boise areas.
As a young adult, photography always interested me. While I enjoyed photographing events and concerts, nature related subjects is my passion. It was not until the year 2000 after I retired from Hewlett-Packard that I became serious about photography.
Before my retirement from Hewlett-Packard, I was a World-wide trainer on the features and functionality of the Color LaserJet which included getting the best photo output from the printer. I also taught classes in color management and how to enhance images in Photoshop. Even though I use Photoshop for my image editing software, I make minimal adjustments to my photos.
I purchased my first digital camera (a point and shoot) in the year 2000. This camera produced some amazing images. Since I love flowers it was my main focus. Now I concentrate on Nature (Flowers, Fruits and Vegetables and Scenery). My primary camera is a Canon 20D and the Canon Powershot G12 is the companion to my 20D.
Image quality is very important to me. I am very well-known for my image quality and composition. Composition comes very naturally to me and I always like to capture the unique. My images are very crisp and colorful. Some people tell me that I bring out the personality of a flower. The printer I am using is an Epson 2200 and print on Ultra Premium Matt Paper. I sign each image I print individually.
I’ve been selling my photos since 2004, mainly at the Capital City Public Market in Boise and the Farmer’s Market in Ketchum. I sold a numerous festivals and Bazaars. My photos have reached households all over the World. See Events page for markets and shows.
Even though my focus is nature, I still enjoy photographing entertainers and figure skaters... In 2010 I’ve been commissioned by two different bands to photograph for their CD covers. I have also been commissioned to photograph dogs.
I take special orders and can print in various sizes and sell photos printed on canvas as well.
